Just Barely.
I just want to take a moment and thank the staff at Airfare.com and FEDEX for getting me my plane tickets on time. In a world of automation and e-tickets and voice recognition instead of flesh and blood operators, it's easy to get frustrated. Sometimes you just want to hear a human voice, even if it's in a call center in Bangalore, India. So thank you Karen, a dedicated package service technician who's day job is to make miracles happen at FEDEX and to the mysterious Indian or maybe Pakistani man at Airfare.com who somehow managed to stop my tickets from being shipped back to Alexandria, VA...where they probably would have sat in someones inbox while my plane taxied away from the gate, sans Avi.
p.s. it's harder than you think to dig down deep and pull out a personal gut renching story like this.
