WVBR Goes Garlic (October 22 2005)

Today, WVBR had a remote broadcast from Ithaca's farmers market. The garlic festival was in full swing by the time WVBR showed up. Men in stilts pranced around in garlic suits, garlic bread saturated the air, and garlic soup was served to warm the chill out of the cold ithaca fall day. As I walked around sampling garlic eats I made quick friends with one of the vendors who let me use her mortar and pistol to mash garlic cloves for a spread she was making (basil, olive oil, garlic). Besides garlic, hot cider, corn fritters, samosa, cambodian food, hot chocolate, breakfast burritos, and cuban sandwhices, gigantic carrots, and celeriac, WVBR was blasting out the tunes the only way we know how.

Avi On Ice (October 20 2005)

It took me about 35 minutes to put all the shit on...by that time the game had already started...I had to skate out on the ice in the middle of a period...the game stoped just so I could shimmy my way across the rink. Once I got going though, I was unstoppable, mainly because I was on ice, and there's no way to stop. Surprisingly, I only fell once. The fact that I had a hockey stick to use as a third leg helped tremendously. I'm number 15.

Cooking With the Sun (October 20 2005)

Yes, it's possible, no, I've never done it. Below are some pics of our solar oven. So far we've only done parametric testing, no food yet...by the end of the semester we hope to have a design we can ship over to Morocco.

Going to Boston (October 7 2005)

Recently, I spent the weekend in Boston. I visited OSU friends Craig and Amy as well as Meg B from Vestal. We had a fucking blast. Weekend activities included: Sam Adams brewery tour (or should I say Paul Revere Beer), Freedom Trail, Mikes Italian Pastries, The Aristocrats (a must see), The Big Dig Bridge, a walk through cambridge (I think I saw natalie portman...she said she wants to have my baby) and I ate some wicked awsome Boston Schrod.
